Job Summary:

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice-President, Marketing and Operations is a senior executive who, in conjunction with the executive team, formulates the organization's commercial policies and establishes the strategic direction for our home health care and medical equipment retailers operating [40+] stores across Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta and a national e-commerce channel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Establishes commercial objectives for the retail and marketing divisions and develops or signs off on the policies that determine how the company competes in the home health care market.
• Decides company-wide standards for store operations, customer service and in-store presentation, and assesses network performance against those standards through regional directors and managers.
• Coordinates activity across regions, divisions and departments, aligning the store network, ecommerce, merchandising and marketing functions so they operate against a single commercial plan.
• Approves assortment strategy, pricing structure, category mix and inventory investment, and judges their effect on margin and profitability.
• Authorizes marketing, promotional and customer-acquisition programs across digital, local and in-store channels, and measures results against sales targets.
• Distributes staffing, inventory and capital across regions, stores, categories and marketing channels to execute approved plans.
• Puts financial and administrative controls in place, approves the consolidated operating budget, and reviews divisional results against plan and return-on-investment targets.
• Authorizes spending on new locations, relocations and renovations, and rules on site selection recommendations brought forward by subordinate managers.
• Appoints middle managers and regional directors, grants them decision-making authority, and sets the conditions they need to deliver against targets.
• Acts for the company, or appoints others to act on its behalf, in dealings with suppliers, manufacturers, landlords, insurers, third-party payors, media partners and industry bodies.
• Sets policy for compliance with federal and provincial health legislation, medical device licensing and accessibility requirements, and monitors adherence through subordinate managers.

Minimum Skills Requirement:

• Must have a university degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce, marketing, communications or a related field;
• Minimum three (3) years in a middle or senior management role in retail or wholesale trade, operations, marketing or advertising is required; and
• Must be proficient in verbal and written English.
