Interior Designer or Design Technologist

Residential Interiors & Boutique Hospitality

Full-Time | In-Office | Calgary, Alberta

This is a full-time, in-office position located in Calgary, Alberta.

Remote applicants will not be considered.

Applicants must:

  • Currently reside within the greater Calgary area
  • Hold a valid Canadian Driver's Licence
  • Have access to a personal vehicle
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Be available to begin employment between mid-July and early August 2026

About Studio Ridge

Studio Ridge is a boutique interior design studio specializing in elevated residential interiors, boutique hospitality environments, luxury showhomes, and select architectural collaborations throughout Canada and the United States.

Our work is rooted in warmth, material richness, architectural sensitivity, and timeless mountain-inspired living.

We are seeking a talented Interior Designer or Design Technologist to join our Calgary studio.

This role is ideal for someone with approximately 3–5 years of residential interior design experience who enjoys both the creative and technical aspects of design and wants to contribute to meaningful, design-driven projects.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare CAD-based drawing packages and technical documentation
  • Assist with space planning, finish plans, elevations, detailing, and millwork coordination
  • Support projects from concept through installation
  • Participate in material sourcing, specifications, and furniture selections
  • Prepare presentations, schedules, and project documentation
  • Attend site visits, installations, and coordination meetings
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, vendors, suppliers, and clients
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation
  • Utilize emerging technologies and AI-assisted workflows where appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of residential interior design experience in Canada or the United States
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design OR Diploma/Degree in Architectural Technology, Interior Design Technology, or related discipline
  • Strong current CAD proficiency

Applicants without current CAD proficiency will not be considered.

  • Working proficiency in SketchUp
  • Experience with rendering software and visual presentation tools
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Understanding of residential construction methods and technical detailing
  • Experience producing technical drawing packages and construction documentation
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, collaborative, and solutions-oriented attitude
  • Valid Canadian Driver's Licence
  • Access to a personal vehicle
  • Ability to travel occasionally to out-of-province project sites and installations
