The Scheduler and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing scheduling of production. This role will ensure safety, quality, on time delivery, and cost objectives are met. The role encompasses leadership, coordination, administration, reporting, and continuous improvement. The Scheduler will support strategic initiatives set by Anchor Danly and implement as required. This position reports to the plant manager and is primarily a day shift position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with Production Supervisor on daily production plan to optimize resource and machine utilization
  • Analyze production trends and provide recommendations to improve scheduling efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules
  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts or capacity constraints and develop contingency plans
  • Assist in ERP system enhancements and ensure accurate data entry for scheduling and capacity planning
  • Provide training to team members on scheduling tools and best practices
  • Track and report key scheduling KPIs such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), capacity utilization, and lead time accuracy
  • Generate and communicate the Past Due report each day for Sales and local Management that shows orders coming due, on schedule and past due
  • Primary lead for weekly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting
  • Participate in all management, sales, production, and quality meetings
  • Discuss, inform, and seek approval from the Plant Manager on circumstances outside regular business practices
  • Coach, motivate, and recognize team members to promote a culture of continuous improvement, change management and best practices
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment by promoting open communication and conflict resolution
  • Post Past Due report on huddle board and discuss any scheduling and on time delivery (OTD) obstacles, with the team at this daily meeting
  • Plan, organize, and communicate current and upcoming work orders to achieve quality, on-time delivery and cost objectives.
  • Escalate schedule changes to Production Supervisor / PM.
  • Manage vacation schedule and ensure sufficient coverage is available
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to schedule machine repair that will align with capacity planning
  • Initiate, plan, implement and sustain corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement ideas to achieve objectives
  • Review daily dispatch reports with Production Supervisor / Team Leads. Align production with customer delivery expectations and re-align schedule where required
  • Generate daily capacity report showing estimated lead times for quoting
  • Ensure customer delivery requests are on schedule; inform Estimating/Sales/ PM of any late shipments
  • Update and ensure the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) database has accurate and current data
  • Provide input to Corporate Quality Manager on process / procedure changes

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of previous experience in production scheduling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities (safety conscious, growth-oriented, motivational, problem-solving, reliable, accountable, professional, collaborative, and innovative)
  • Strategic and tactical mindset with ability to drive measurable results
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High energy, organized, able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, and reporting)
  • Ability to create clear, accurate, and actionable reports for management and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Profit Key experience is an asset)

Physical Demands:

  • Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
