About the Role
As the Local Store Marketing Manager, you’ll own the strategy and execution of Local Store Marketing (LSM) and Grand Openings across Canada. You’ll work closely with franchisees, operations, marketing and external partners to drive awareness, traffic and sales at both new and existing locations.

You’ll also lead and develop one direct report, building a strong, organized and execution-focused LSM function.

This is a highly hands-on role. You’ll spend time at restaurants, in local communities and at Grand Opening events, while also managing the planning, reporting and coordination required to execute programs at scale. This role requires heavy travel across Canada.

Local Store Marketing

  • Develop and execute localized marketing plans that drive traffic, awareness and sales at BarBurrito restaurants across Canada.
  • Create LSM strategies tailored to individual markets, restaurant needs and franchisee goals.
  • Partner closely with franchisees and restaurant operators to identify local opportunities and build effective marketing plans.
  • Coordinate local partnerships, community events, sponsorships, grassroots initiatives and promotional opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to connect BarBurrito with schools, businesses, sports teams, community organizations, events and other local audiences.
  • Manage local marketing budgets, timelines and promotional materials.
  • Track and report on the performance of LSM initiatives and make recommendations based on results.
  • Develop scalable tools, resources and best practices that franchisees can use to execute effective local marketing.

Grand Openings

  • Own the end-to-end marketing execution for Grand Openings across Canada, from pre-opening planning through launch and post-opening follow-up.
  • Build Grand Opening marketing plans that generate awareness, excitement and traffic within the local community.
  • Coordinate with franchisees, operations, construction, marketing and external vendors to ensure all launch activities are aligned and delivered on time.
  • Plan and execute opening events, community outreach, influencer activations, sampling, promotional campaigns and local partnerships.
  • Coordinate marketing materials, signage, promotional items and event logistics.
  • Travel to new restaurant openings across Canada and be hands-on during launch events.
  • Conduct post-opening analysis and identify opportunities to improve future Grand Opening playbooks.

Franchisee & Field Marketing Support

  • Act as the primary contact for local store marketing (LSM) initiatives
  • Support partners with flyers, mail drops, sponsorships, and local signage
  • Approve local marketing use of brand assets and provide toolkits/guides

Team Leadership

  • Manage, coach and develop one direct report.
  • Establish clear priorities, workflows and deadlines for the LSM team.
  • Ensure consistent execution and communication across markets.
  • Build processes that allow the LSM function to scale as BarBurrito continues to grow.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Brand, Social, Digital, Operations, Franchise Development and Design teams to ensure local initiatives align with national marketing strategies.
  • Act as a key marketing partner to franchisees and field operations.
  • Manage relationships with local vendors, agencies, community partners and event suppliers.
  • Ensure local marketing activity remains consistent with BarBurrito’s brand standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-7+ years of experience in marketing, local marketing, field marketing, experiential marketing, retail marketing or a related role.
  • Experience managing multi-location marketing programs; QSR, restaurant, retail or franchise experience is a strong asset.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proven experience planning and executing events, community activations and local marketing initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple openings and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with franchisees and operators.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Highly organized, proactive and hands-on with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable analyzing campaign results and using data to improve future initiatives.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Canada, including occasional evenings and weekends for Grand Openings and events.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Starting at $80,000 but will to negotiate for the right experience
  • Benefits package
  • 3 weeks paid vacation
  • 5 paid sick days
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced work environment
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact within one of Canada's fastest-growing QSR brands
