Full job description

At River Rock Casino Resort, one of British Columbia’s most iconic entertainment destinations, every guest interaction is an opportunity to create something memorable. Located in the heart of Richmond—just minutes from Vancouver International Airport, a short drive from downtown Vancouver, and directly connected to its own on‑site SkyTrain station (Bridgeport Station)—River Rock blends the energy of a world‑class casino with the comfort and sophistication of a full‑service waterfront resort.

As part of a team of over 950 dedicated employees, you’ll join a vibrant, guest‑focused community where hospitality, entertainment, and service excellence come together. We are looking for warm, enthusiastic, self‑starting individuals who bring genuine hospitality to every conversation.

As a Host in the Chairman’s Lounge, you will be the first point of welcome to one of River Rock’s most elevated dining spaces—an intimate, upscale lounge located on the third floor above the casino floor, featuring sweeping waterfront views of the Fraser River. The Chairman’s Lounge offers a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, with an à la carte menu inspired by West Coast and Continental flavours, craft cocktails, and access to the resort’s signature buffet on select days. Whether you’re greeting guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating, supporting service flow, or sharing recommendations about our dining, entertainment, and casino offerings, you’ll play a key role in delivering the polished, attentive, and memorable experience that defines the Chairman’s Lounge.

Your warm presence, attention to detail, and commitment to exceptional service will help create the elevated, welcoming environment that keeps guests returning to River Rock year after year.

  • Provide accurate explanations of menu items, beverages, and preparation methods when required.
  • Support the serving team as needed to maintain seamless, attentive service.
  • Perform opening and closing duties to ensure the lounge is guest‑ready at all times.
  • Maintain accurate waitlists, reservations, and seating records, ensuring smooth flow and timely service.
  • Allocate tables strategically to support service excellence and confirm availability through clear communication with server assistants.
  • Assist Porters and Server Assistants with running food and beverages, resetting tables, and maintaining a smooth service rhythm.
  • Communicate effectively with back‑of‑house teams and management to anticipate needs and resolve issues proactively.
  • Stay fully informed about the menu, including allergen details, to provide accurate, confident guidance to guests.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety standards, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to clear a criminal record check
