Full job description

Most jobs are on site at client locations within the downtown core and Airport Region, in conference centres, banquet halls and convention centres.

The responsibilities of an AV Technician encompass loading and unloading trucks, building truss and other scenic structures, and assembling and disassembling event-related equipment such as staging, set pieces, scenic elements, and furniture. AV Technicians are responsible for setting up audio, video, and lighting systems for turnkey operation and providing support with various tasks involved in the setup or dismantling of live events.

Please note: All applicants must undergo a skills assessment. Those who do not meet the required skill level for the AV Technician role may consider applying for a 'general hand' position.

Candidates Must Be

  • Punctual
  • Able to work well under direction
  • Ability to work respectfully with a diverse team
  • Able to demonstrate technical proficiency on demand
  • Able to lift 50Ibs, independently or up to 150lbs in a team
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
  • Familiar with loading and unloading trucks (Docks, Lift Gates, Ramps, Pallet Jacks)

Job Requirements

  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalency
  • Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps Certificate
  • WHMIS (2015 or later)

Experience in the following is an asset

  • Has worked as an A2, L2 or V2 in a live environment
  • Working at Heights Certificate
  • Scissor Lift Certificate, with 1-year practical use
  • Has relevant post-secondary education
