What You Should Know:
You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.
Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
Who We Are:
At Fidelity, we’ve been helping Canadian investors build better financial futures for over 35 years. We offer individuals and institutions a range of trusted investment portfolios and services - and we’re constantly seeking to find new and better ways to help our clients. As a privately owned company, we boldly embrace innovation in all areas as we continue to grow our business into the future.
Working with us means you’ll be part of a diverse and dedicated group of people who make a real difference for our clients and communities every day. You’ll have a wide range of opportunities to grow and develop your career in an inclusive environment where you’ll feel valued and supported to be your best - both personally and professionally.
What We Do (The Team You’ll Be Part Of):
The Video Podcast Producer will be part of the Digital Media Team, reporting the Manager, Digital Media, and will focus on the expansion of new video podcasts on various platforms and for varying audiences.
The Video Podcast Producer will play a leading role in Fidelity’s digital media production environment, working both independently and in visible team-leading roles to develop and produce numerous Podcasts monthly. The role will also involve supporting the wider Digital Media Team on various aspects of video production, broadcast-quality live webcasts and digital events as required.
In addition to producer responsibilities, the role will also require knowledge of studio equipment and operations, editing, and current distribution and promotion methods.
How You’ll Make An Impact:
Producing: Oversee the technical and creative process for podcast production.
-
Plan and execute high-quality video podcast recordings by managing equipment setup including cameras, audio, and lighting. This will also include pre-production planning and content development, location scouting, talent management and directing, and adhering to developed Fidelity Canada Digital Media best practices.
Editing, publishing and distribution:
-
Edit video and audio content to create polished episodes. This includes editing, graphics, music, and branding, as well as final full-length deliverables and short-form promotional pieces. Graphics, subtitles, and bi-lingual thumbnails are also necessary for Bill96 requirements.
Long-term content strategy and development:
-
Develop and produce plans to expand the Fidelity Canada podcast lineup with a focus on emerging client segments, topics of interest, and languages. Expansion plans will align with organizational goals and audience demand
Relationships:
-
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Digital Media team, hosts and guests. Hosts and guests will be a mix of Fidelity Canada employees (portfolio managers, subject-matter experts and thought leaders), as well as external guests. Content ideas are often generated from cross-department discussions with sales, products, marketing, and investment management
What We Are Looking For:
-
Knowledge of video/webcast/podcast producing including content development, talent management, and directing
-
Knowledge of digital camera systems and studio equipment, camera capture, shot set-up, lighting, advanced audio capture and related trouble shooting.
-
Ability to quickly cut videos to music and design/execute related motion graphics.
-
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other video production software, including Premiere, Audition, After Effects, and Photoshop
-
Basic knowledge of webcast and video conference platforms such as Zoom, including video and audio signal flows between a studio environment, home computer environment and conference room
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required
-
Understanding of digital technologies and emerging digital trends
-
Project management and strong organizational abilities are essential
-
Ability to help foster a collaborative and engaging work environment
-
The role is not required to be bilingual, but basic understanding of French is recommended.
-
Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience
-
Demo reel / video production work samples. Experience in video production, digital media, live TV studio, podcast/webcast, film production, video editing, or equivalent freelance experience
-
After Effects or equivalent animation, journalism experience or social media “content creator” experience
-
Experience in financial services or public institutions
-
Communications related experience in public affairs, journalism, marketing or others
-
Two-year post-secondary program (or equivalent work experience)
-
Communications related experience in public affairs, journalism, marketing or others
