Plumber / Gasfitter (Journeyman & Apprentice) – Camp Dismantle Project (Contract)

Position Summary

LaGrange Mechanical Services Ltd. is hiring Journeyman and Apprentice Plumbers/Gasfitters for a project-based contract supporting the dismantling and decommissioning of a modular workforce camp in Northern British Columbia.

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated tradespeople who enjoy physically demanding work, travel, and working as part of a collaborative construction team. Successful applicants will assist with the safe dismantling, removal, and preparation of modular camp infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely disconnect, remove, and dismantle plumbing and gas systems within modular buildings.
  • Remove piping, fixtures, tanks, pumps, valves, water distribution, and drainage systems.
  • Assist with the dismantling, loading, packaging, and preparation of modular camp components for transportation.
  • Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and project documentation.
  • Complete work in accordance with applicable codes, company procedures, and client requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades to safely complete project objectives.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and equipment deficiencies promptly.
  • Perform other duties reasonably assigned that are consistent with your qualifications and the operational needs of the project.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter or registered Apprentice Plumber/Gasfitter.
  • Previous commercial, modular, construction, renovation, demolition, or decommissioning experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • English proficiency with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the designated mobilization location.
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment and perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to meet all client site access requirements, including orientations, medical assessments, drug and alcohol testing, and any other site-specific requirements as applicable.

Assets

  • Experience with modular camp construction or dismantling.
  • Experience with water distribution, sewage systems, lift stations, or utility infrastructure.
  • CSTS 2020.
  • Additional trade or safety certifications such as H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry/Monitor, Elevated Work Platform, Standard First Aid, or other applicable training.
  • Equipment operation experience is considered an asset.

Project Information

  • Position Type: Project-Based Contract
  • Project Location: Northern British Columbia
  • Rotation: 14 days on / 7 days off
  • Accommodation: Hotel accommodations provided while on rotation.
  • Living Out Allowance (LOA): Daily LOA provided in accordance with company policy.
  • Project Duration: The project is expected to continue through the remainder of the year. Continued employment is dependent on project requirements, performance, and operational needs.
  • Hours of Work: Extended workdays in accordance with the project schedule and applicable employment standards.
  • Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable legislation.
