We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic brewer to join our team and help us continue crafting exceptional beers that our customers love.

Overview
As a Brewer at Origin Malting & Brewing you will be responsible for overseeing the brewing process from start to finish. This includes everything from selecting ingredients, brewing, fermentation, and quality control to packaging the final product. You will work closely with the brewing team to ensure consistency and innovation in our beer offerings.

Duties

  • Brewing Operations: Execute all aspects of the brewing process, including, brewing wort, fermenting, conditioning, and packaging. As well as all cellaring tasks including yeast management, daily QC readings, dry hopping, fining and lots of cleaning.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high standards of quality throughout the brewing process, ensuring consistency in taste and quality in every batch. Adherence to and help improve SOP’s.
  • Recipe Development: Collaborate with the brewing team to develop and refine beer recipes, experimenting with new ingredients and techniques.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain brewing equipment, including cleaning, sanitizing, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of raw materials and supplies, ensuring that the brewery is stocked and ready for production.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of brewing activities, including ingredient usage, brewing times, temperatures, and quality control results.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment in the brewery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new brewing techniques, and equipment to continuously improve our brewing processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a brewing environment, preferably in a craft brewery.
  • Education: Degree or certification in Brewing Science, Fermentation Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of brewing processes, equipment, and quality control practices.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, and work in a physically demanding environment.
