Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Breakfast Cook to join our senior care home team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious breakfast meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure a warm, welcoming start to each day, contributing to the overall well-being and happiness of our residents. Duties
- Prepare and cook Canadian-style breakfast meals in accordance with provided guidelines
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, following proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist with meal planning and portioning to meet nutritional standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stock needs replenishing
- Follow all food safety regulations and document food preparation activities accurately
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service—preferably within a restaurant or healthcare setting
- Food Safe certification is mandatory
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
- Strong serving skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with meal preparation for special dietary needs is a plus
- Kitchen experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
