Full job description

Fonda Fora is now hiring for an experienced sales driven server to add to our team! We are looking for one person to add to our morning team. The position will be 4-5 eight hour shifts a week, typically starting at 6:00am. You will be responsible to learn 2 food menus as we switch from breakfast to lunch service everyday. Cafe or barista experience is encouraged, but 3+ years of serving experience is necessary.

The four main areas of focus for serving staff will be:

1. Guest Relations – Your interactions with our guests will need to create the best dining experience possible. Reading guests and understanding their individual needs is a must.

2. Product Knowledge – Serving staff must have an in-depth knowledge of all menu items offered in the restaurant.

3. Teamwork – Communication with other staff members is integral to success. No one person should be responsible for all areas of service. A strong team exists to help each other.

4. Sales Techniques – While mastering all areas of hospitality, serving staff will be able to use suggestive selling, upselling, and cross-selling techniques.

The responsibilities of a server/waiter will include amongst other things:

· Ongoing product knowledge,

· Preparing tables with special attention to sanitation and order,

· Presenting menus to guests and helping them select food and beverages,

· Take and serve orders,

· Answer questions about the menu and restaurant,

· Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude,

· Issue bills and accept payment accurately,

· Deliver room service orders,

· Provide an atmosphere of hospitality,

· General cleanliness of the restaurant,

· The guest experience, from start to finish.

Successful candidates will be people that are outgoing, hardworking, and friendly. A passion for food and drink is a must. The ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience is what makes a great serving staff member. Servers are the front line in almost all guest relations, which means that there must be certain instincts that already exist to understand what guests’ want and need. The best serving staff understand what hospitality is, and how to apply it to every situation.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Discounted or free food
  • Store discount

Experience:

  • serving: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:
