Job Summary
We are a growing boutique law firm seeking a junior associate lawyer to join our team. A successful candidate will require experience managing personal injury and motor vehicle accident claims (including Accident Benefits and Tort) with a passion and drive to providing our clients with superior results. Candidates will be provided with the mentorship and experience required to advance their legal practice and become an integral part of a flourishing legal practice.

Duties

  • Drafting various legal documents, including Statements of Claim, Motions, Mediation Memoranda, and Pretrial Memoranda, as well as settlement proposals and legal correspondence
  • Assisting with hearing and trial preparation
  • Attending examinations for discovery, case conferences, examinations under oath and mediations
  • Conducting thorough legal research on issues relating to Ontario personal injury law and procedure
  • Conducting client meetings
  • Managing an inventory of 200-250 files
  • Negotiating settlements

Skills

  • Called to the Bar in Ontario with valid license to practice
  • 2-5 years of experience as a personal injury lawyer
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Punjabi/Hindi is also an asset
