Full job description

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on Bottle Depot Supervisor to support the Depot Manager in the day-to-day operations of our busy recycling facility. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced environment.

As the Bottle Depot Supervisor, you will help ensure the depot operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with BCMB, ABCRC, and BDL standards while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Depot Manager with the daily operation of the bottle depot.
  • Supervising, training, and supporting a team of 15-20 employees.
  • Promoting a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
  • Ensuring accurate counting and processing of recyclable beverage containers.
  • Coordinating bottle drives and outbound shipments.
  • Scheduling and coordinating commercial bottle pickups.
  • Performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting of depot equipment and building systems.
  • Completing and submitting daily reports and paperwork to our Edmonton head office.
  • Providing friendly, efficient customer service and resolving customer concerns as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and spreadsheets
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Experience driving a 16-foot Hino truck or similar commercial vehicle.
  • Forklift certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain certification).
