Can Ridge Industries Ltd. is seeking a full-time Folding Boom Crane Truck Operator to join our team in the Lower Mainland. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials and operation of mobile crane trucks in accordance with all safety regulations and company standards.

The ideal candidate is a skilled operator who takes pride in safety, professionalism, and delivering exceptional service on every job.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Crane Truck Operator is responsible for picking up and delivering materials to job sites as scheduled and in accordance with all safety regulations while consistently providing professional service at all times.

Can Ridge Industries Ltd. is accepting applications for a full time mobile folding boom crane operator to work within the Lower Mainland.

Essential Job Responsibilities Can Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Accurately completing and recording a pre-operational inspection of the truck, crane, rigging gear and tractor, as per company procedures, at the start of each daily shift
  • Allowing appropriate warm up time for the truck prior to departure while still ensuring on-site arrival time is in accordance with dispatch schedule
  • The company allows for 30 minutes for each pre and post trip during freezing conditions, and 15 minutes for each pre and post trip during normal conditions
  • Performing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) prior to project execution
  • Safe crane operation and project planning as per British Columbia Association for Crane Safety (BCACS) standards
  • Securing all loads on trucks as per Ministry of Transport and National Safety Code (NSC) regulations
  • With as much notice as possible, reporting to dispatch and field staff any delays to scheduled arrival time
  • Accurately completing all required paperwork by following the guidelines in the Paperwork Procedures
  • Recording cargo information, hours of work, distance travelled and fuel consumption, as per the guidelines outlined in the Paperwork Procedures
  • Continuing to work until Dispatcher authorizes dismissal
  • Immediately reporting any accident or unsafe working condition to the Dispatcher or President and Safety Officer as well as ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Immediately reporting to the Dispatcher any accidents, damages, problems or concerns in regard to the truck or other company equipment
  • Filing claims with Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), as required, if involved in an accident as per the accident procedure located in each truck
  • Ensuring truck is re-fueled at the end of each day and truck interior and exterior is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Performing regular general maintenance on truck, as per set procedures (ie. keeping crane greased)
  • Following all regulations under the law while operating any company owned truck or other vehicle
  • Providing exemplary customer service at every opportunity
  • Performing various other duties as assigned
  • Transportation & delivery of materials and equipment to various sites throughout the Lower Mainland
  • Safe & responsible operation of a folding boom mobile crane truck
  • Daily inspection of crane and rigging gear
  • Daily inspection of tractor
  • Project planning and execution
  • Working independently and as part of a team

Employment Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Level A – CraneSafe Certification (Can Ridge may train the right applicant that has obtained Level B certification)
  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
  • Experience hauling B-Train combinations and 53’ flat deck trailers
  • Proficient in English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Physically able to perform tasks in various environments and conditions including heavy lifting in excess of 50 lbs
  • 2+ years’ experience in the construction industry
  • 3+ years’ driving experience
  • Knowledge of transportation routes in the Lower Mainland
