About the Position

Canada Keli New Technology Development Ltd. is seeking a Journeyman Red Seal Pipefitter with 5+ years of oilsands project and upgrader turnaround experience to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of professional risk management, troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment, and promoting a strong safety culture.

This position will initially be based in Nisku, AB, working on a 6 days on / 1 day off schedule. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance may have the opportunity to transition to future projects in Fort McMurray.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the maintenance of upgrader processing facilities and field locations
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment
  • Support the engineering department on approved MOC (Management of Change) scopes
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and maintenance costs
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Make field decisions and detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation
  • Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools
  • Select proper pipe types and sizes
  • Join pipe sections and secure equipment in position
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble, and install metal piping systems
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Perform leak, hydro, and pneumatic testing
  • Maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
  • Operate hand tools such as grinders and drills
  • Follow company EH&S and Safe Work Practices
  • Maintain effective communication with operations and management teams
  • Maintain superior housekeeping standards
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Pipefitter Red Seal Certification required
  • 5+ years of Journeyman Pipefitter experience
  • Oilsands upgrader and turnaround experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in multi-skilled environments considered an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
  • Must pass pre-access alcohol and drug testing
