Full job description

About MTLI

MTLI Group is a North American turnkey industrial contractor and systems integrator delivering all-in-one solutions across racking, automation, conveyors, mezzanines, construction, installation, and facility relocations. With 15,000+ completed projects across all Canadian provinces and all 50 U.S. states, we partner with the world’s top manufacturers to take clients from concept through commissioning. We’re scaling aggressively, and we’re looking for a relationship-driven account leader to own and grow our most important industrial accounts.

The Role

As Key Account Director, you’ll own direct relationships with major industrial end-users — plant managers, operations directors, and facilities leaders — and grow share-of-wallet across multi-site, multi-project programs. You’ll be the single point of contact who quarterbacks MTLI’s install, electrical, and project teams to keep clients successful from first quote through commissioning and beyond.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and expand a portfolio of strategic industrial accounts across racking, material handling, automation, and relocation work
  • Develop multi-site and repeat-project opportunities within existing end-user relationships
  • Serve as the client’s trusted advisor on facility, throughput, and systems decisions
  • Coordinate internally across installation, electrical, and project management to ensure flawless delivery
  • Lead account planning, renewals, expansions, and escalation resolution
  • Travel to client sites across the U.S. and Canada as needed

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in account management or sales within industrial construction, material handling, racking/storage, conveyors/automation, MEP, structural/steel, or capital equipment
  • Proven track record growing large industrial or multi-site accounts over time (farmer, not just hunter)
  • Technical fluency to credibly discuss racking, automation, throughput, and site logistics on a plant floor
  • Strong command of long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and scope-of-work discipline
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional delivery teams through project commissioning
  • Cross-border (U.S./Canada) experience a strong plus

Why MTLI

  • Own marquee accounts at a fast-scaling, profitable industry leader
  • All-in-one delivery model means you sell solutions, not just products
  • Competitive base plus uncap

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,819.44-$150,536.49 per year

Benefits:

  • Extended health care
  • Paid time off
  • Vision care

Application question(s):

  • Walk me through the most technically complex industrial project you’ve sold or managed. What was the scope and who were you selling to?
  • Which of these have you sold or supported: racking, conveyors, automation, mezzanines, relocations, MEP, or structural? Give a specific example.
  • Tell me about your single largest account. How big was it when you got it, how big when you left, and what drove the growth?
  • Do you have direct experience in any of these industries: industrial construction, material handling, racking/storage, conveyors, automation, MEP, or structural steel? Elaborate
  • What was the largest single account (annual revenue) you’ve personally managed?
  • What types of work have you estimated (racking, steel, mezzanines, conveyors, MEP, install labor)?
  • What kind of profit was your minimum targets annually?
  • Have you sold industrial offers before? Explain?
  • Which accounts do you have relationships with in Nova Scotia & are you willing to build a team around you?

Experience:

  • B2B sales: 5 years (preferred)
