Blue Hat Bakery-Café and Bistro at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is looking for a Barista/Event Server to work in our full-service café and event space. The qualified applicant should have serving experience and be available to between 5-25 hours per week for our bakery-café

The barista duties includes:
· Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
· Prepare and serve food products
· Take customer orders and provide exceptional customer service
· Operate espresso machines and other café equipment to make beverages according to established recipes and quality standards
-Handle cash, credit card and ATM transaction accurately
-Follow SOP for opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed
· Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work area, cafe dining area, equipment, utensils and other area
· Set up and lock up patio furniture as needed and water planters in the warmer months
· Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
· Follow all food safety and handling procedures
· Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the coffee shop
· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
· Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
· Experience in preparing and serving coffee and food in a hospitality environment
· Excellent communication skills and enjoy working with the public
· Punctual, reliable and honest
· Thrive in a fast-paced environment while keep calm under pressure and maintaining an attention to detail
· Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
· Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
· Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
· Be able to lift up to 15kgs
· Serving It Right certificate
· Previous experience as a barista or server is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate·
· Be able to legally work in Canada

Blue Hat Bakery-Cafe is part of Vancouver's best professional culinary training institute, Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts. We boast a stunning, marina-side café and event space with views to the city and mountains. We are centrally located at the entrance of Granville Island and easily accessible via transit.
