Hiring Enthusiastic & Responsible Fishing Guide

If you are highly passionate about fishing — especially the adventurous and big game side of it — and believe you can meet our standards, look no further.

This is a saltwater fishing adventure operation based on the Lower Mainland West Coast, often launching from Richmond and travelling to destinations including Nanaimo, Howe Sound, the Gulf Islands, and even Victoria.

Target species may include Lingcod, Rockfish, Halibut, Salmon (multiple species), Spot Prawns, Greenling, Flatfish, Cabezon, Pacific Cod, Black Cod, Skate, Crabs, and more. Specific targets depend on the season, ocean conditions, and client preferences.

Candidates will be evaluated on two levels:

First, the fundamental requirements:

- Ability and qualifications to tow, launch, and operate boats safely

- Understanding of boating and fishing regulations

- Ability to work well with different types of clients and personalities

- Previous guiding experience is preferred

Second, the potential to become a top-level guide:

- Passion for fishing

- Ability to learn quickly and continuously improve

- Competitive mindset and strong work ethic

The owner of this business is an extremely hardcore fisherman himself. By “hardcore,” we mean personally fighting and landing hundreds of large white sturgeon, blue marlin, bluefin tuna, swordfish, and even great white sharks — seriously.

In addition, whenever he fishes, it often means extremely long hours from darkness to darkness, fishing competitively whether on his own boat or while travelling and chartering elsewhere. Because of this, the guides trained under this operation must have the potential to become elite anglers themselves.
