Bureau Veritas is looking for a Microbiologist - Signer to join our environmental laboratory in Ste-Foy, QC.
Please note that our laboratory is accredited by the Ministry. In order to be eligible to be a signer, you need a minimum of 2 years of experience in an environmental laboratory, specifically in microbiology.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Perform complex sample preparation and analysis;
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work;
  • Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data;
  • Approve data generated (validation level 1) for which analysts have been trained and validated;
  • If required, validate Level II data;
  • Generate reports with results and fax them to the clients;
  • Understand and diagnose analyses;
  • Contribute to corrective action procedures;
  • Ensure deadlines are met;
  • Recommend SOP revisions;
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained;
  • Use summaries to plan and organize work;
  • Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations;
  • Contribute to daily and weekly planning;
  • Provide support for performance supervision;
  • Coordinate laboratory projects;
  • Validate and implement new methods;
  • Write SOPs;
  • Follow up on contamination and interference in the laboratory;
  • Question results;
  • Other related tasks.

You are an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have a BAC in microbiology or equivalency;
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an environmental laboratory, specifically in microbiology (mandatory requirement to be a signer);

  • Strong knowledge in microbiology;
  • Are able to work independently or as part of a team;
  • Are attentive to detail.
