Full Job Description

Our client, a leader in aftermarket medical equipment repair, is currently seeking experienced Service Technicians to join their team. This role involves hands-on service and maintenance of medical devices, including laser-based surgical and aesthetic systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnostics, installations, and preventive maintenance at customer sites.

This is a field-based position with regular travel to hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.

Job Summary

  • Perform technical inspections, repairs, upgrades, and support of medical systems
  • Install and commission new equipment at customer locations
  • Provide preventive maintenance to ensure optimal device performance
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person, via email, or over the phone
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented service culture through strong communication

Responsibilities

  • Perform electro-mechanical and optical repairs, diagnostics, and calibration
  • Conduct quality control inspections (QC) and equipment modifications to meet CSA standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site, including electrical, mechanical and optical components
  • Provide basic end-user training to customers on equipment use and care
  • Organize travel to/from customer locations and manage daily field service schedules
  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation within 24 hours of work
  • Track and return defective parts promptly and manage service inventory
  • Contribute to the development of SOPs, service documentation, and technical reports
  • Lead and implement equipment upgrades and technical updates
  • Support new product launches with technical setup, training, and documentation

Requirements

  • Diploma in Electronics Technician/Technologist or equivalent
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a related medical device service role
  • Experience with laser systems is a definite asset
  • Strong ability to read schematics and use electronic testing equipment
  • Solid understanding of optical and laser fundamentals is must
  • Flexible and available to travel with minimal notice
  • Must be flexible of working hours including after hours or weekends to accommodate client operations.
  • Must possess a valid Class G Driver’s Licence
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Working Conditions:

  • Mix of in-shop, hospital, and clinical site environments
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Required use of PPE on-site and in production areas
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs and operating tools and equipment
  • Require extended travel within Ontario and Canada wide with short notice, including weekends

Experience:

  • Medical equipment servicing: 2 years (required)
  • Reading schematics: 4 years (required)

Language:

  • English (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class G Licence (required)
