Job description:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Medical And Dental Equipment Service Technician with direct hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing dental equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge of dental chairs, X-ray machines, autoclaves, compressors, and other operatory equipment to ensure all equipment remains fully functional, safe, and operational.

The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, and carrying out repairs efficiently to minimize downtime in a clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on dental equipment, including:
  • Dental chairs
  • X-ray machines
  • Autoclaves / sterilization units
  • Compressors
  • Delivery systems and related clinical equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic issues in dental equipment
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Calibrate equipment settings such as temperature, pressure, and speed for optimal performance
  • Maintain accurate service records and digital logs of repairs and maintenance activities
  • Inspect equipment before and after service to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain inventory of tools, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Coordinate with external vendors for major repairs or specialized servicing when required
  • Provide basic training or guidance to staff on the proper use and care of equipment
  • Be available for occasional emergency or on-call maintenance support

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in dental equipment maintenance and repair is required
  • Strong experience working specifically with:
  • Dental chairs
  • Dental X-ray systems
  • Autoclaves
  • Compressors
  • Experience troubleshooting motors, electronics, pneumatic systems, and electrical components
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance practices and equipment safety protocols
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to technical issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma, certification, or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in a dental clinic, dental service company, or medical equipment service environment

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to reliably commute to Mississauga, ON or relocate before starting
  • Must be comfortable working fully on-site
  • Occasional emergency availability may be required
