Job Summary
BOMImed Inc. is looking for a motivated, hands-on, and customer-focused Biomedical Service Technician to join our growing Technical Service team supporting healthcare facilities throughout Manitoba and Northwest Ontario.

We are seeking a skilled Biomedical Service Technician to help maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medical equipment across healthcare environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with electronic systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring biomedical devices operate safely and reliably to support patient care and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and commission respiratory, anesthesia, and other medical equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and manufacturer-recommended servicing
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues, including unscheduled and emergency service calls
  • Troubleshoot biomedical devices to ensure optimal functionality and performance
  • Plan and maintain service schedules in accordance with customer service agreements
  • Accurately complete service reports and technical documentation
  • Order and manage replacement parts and commonly used service inventory
  • Identify and escalate complex equipment concerns to the Service Manager as required
  • Work collaboratively with hospital Biomedical, Nursing, and Clinical teams
  • Deliver professional, responsive customer service at all times

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate of a recognized Electronics, Biomedical, or Technologist program
  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience preferred; however, BOMImed is willing to train the right individual.
  • Proven experience with maintenance and repair of electronic or mechanical systems, preferably in a healthcare or medical device setting.
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools for repairs and adjustments.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively for precision work on electronic components.
  • Valid driver’s licence required.
  • Must be legally able and willing to travel to the United States for work-related training.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written, verbal, and documentation skills
  • Solid IT and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple service calls and tasks
  • Flexible, adaptable, and capable of working independently
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy equipment, and perform physical service tasks
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout Manitoba, Northwest Ontario, and internationally when required
