Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator

NEWDOCK is a growing organization serving the ship repair, industrial fabrication, and offshore services sectors. We are committed to a strong safety culture built on leadership, accountability, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance. We offer the opportunity to work on diverse marine, industrial, and offshore projects in a workplace dedicated to safety and professional development.

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and support a proactive health, safety, and environmental culture.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, safety observations, and atmospheric testing.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, safe work practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE programs and procedures.
  • Provide HSE guidance and support to employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Combination of HSE education, training, certifications, and relevant industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, industry standards, and safe work practices.
  • Experience with gas detection equipment and confined space work is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in industrial and outdoor environments, including shipboard and confined-space settings.
  • Flexibility to accommodate shift changes, overtime, and extended hours as required.
