Duties & Responsibilities:

Safety, Compliance & Product Requirements

  • Communicate regularly with states and provinces to update weight and dimension law book.
  • Identify changing technologies, future customer needs and legislative requirements.

Application/Sales Support

  • Develop/modify designs for new market/customer opportunities.
  • Develop Concrete Pump Truck concept layouts & associated cost models.
  • Product Development & Maintenance:
  • Develop and maintain chassis and pump assemblies ensuring all state and provincial regulations criteria are met.
  • Design components and assemblies in SolidWorks. Create or direct the creation of component and assembly drawings.
  • Complete or co-ordinate and oversee (3rd party) associated analysis.
  • Complete axle-Load calculations, stability calculations & driveline analysis
  • Develop and maintain truck chassis specifications.
  • Support/Lead the resolution of product issues.
  • Lead development of 3d model library & enhanced engineering documentation.
  • Develop and document Engineering guidelines, best practices and standard processes.

Manufacturing Support

  • Support development of manufacturing engineering documentation.
  • Update designs to improve manufacturability.
  • Support manufacturing and testing troubleshooting.

Other duties as required.

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can work well independently and amongst a team.
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Professional work ethic and positive attitude
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and managing engineering drawings/models.
  • Experience with simulation tools (FE analysis, etc.)
  • Off-road or heavy on-road industry knowledge
  • Experience estimating product costs.
  • Experience creating, updating, or adhere to Engineering Department standards.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite (Access, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Familiarity with steel processing and fabrication, including plate profile cutting, forming, machining, and welding.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering Technologist diploma, bachelor’s degree in engineering, or similar is required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Engineering/Design related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software especially Excel
  • Applicants must be entitled to work in Canada.
