Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shop Bench Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining complex equipment and components on the shop bench. Your expertise will ensure that all products meet quality standards and are ready for deployment or further assembly. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and technical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and service industrial air / gas turbine starters, vane starters, hydraulic starters, barring motors and other engine components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair customers rebuilds as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, parts used, and issues identified for all shop rebuilds.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently and to Strumco standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Journeyperson certification as an Industrial Mechanic, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Millwright.
  • Experience working with rebuilding engine components and / or small industrial equipment is an asset but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of the gas compression industry is an asset.
  • First Aid required.
  • Candidates must be capable of safely lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling items weighing up to 100 lbs (45 kg), either independently or with approved safe work practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining clean and accurate records.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
