Are you passionate about helping others and ready to build a meaningful career in Behavioural Health? We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and motivated professional to join our growing team in a dynamic full-time clinical setting. This is an opportunity to work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team supporting children, youth, and adults with Neurodevelopmental Disabilities who may exhibit severe and dangerous challenging behaviour.

About the Role
Behavioural Health Practitioners provide direct therapeutic intervention and skills-based support to individuals with complex behavioural needs. The position works collaboratively with Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs) and Program Supervisors to implement individualized treatment plans and create positive, engaging learning environments where individuals can thrive.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct 1:1 behavioural intervention and therapeutic support
  • Implement individualized treatment and challenging behaviour reduction plans developed by the supervising BCBA
  • Lead structured and leisure-based activities that build communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and daily living skills
  • Support clients in developing independence and meaningful life skills
  • Apply proactive de-escalation and behavioural support strategies in challenging situations
  • Accurately collect, graph, and summarize behavioural data using electronic systems
  • Participate in behavioural assessments and treatment planning in collaboration with the Behaviour Analyst and Supervisor
  • Collaborate with families and caregivers
  • Maintain professional documentation and contribute to team discussions and clinical reviews
  • Work collaboratively within a large multidisciplinary Behavioural Health team committed to high-quality, person-centered care

Physical Requirements
This role requires individuals who are comfortable with:

  • Frequent movement and active engagement throughout the day
  • Working in both structured and fast-paced environments
  • Frequent transitions between activities and clinical spaces
  • Standing, kneeling, bending, and moving up and down regularly during sessions
  • Safely lifting or supporting up to a maximum of 30 lbs when required

Qualifications

The successful applicant(s) will demonstrate high levels of:

  • Patience, compassion, and emotional regulation
  • Creativity, flexibility, confidence, and self-awareness
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to both follow supervisory guidance and make sound independent decisions when appropriate

Education & Experience

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Behavioural Science, or a related field
  • OR
  • A diploma in Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, or a related discipline may be consideredEquivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may also be considered.RBT Certification Requirement

All successful candidates must either hold, or be willing to obtain, certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).Amal Behavioural Health Supports will provide and financially cover the required RBT training and supervised fieldwork opportunities upon hire.

Preference will be given to applicants who currently hold certification with the BACB (RBT, BCaBA, BCBA) or who are actively pursuing certification.

Salary $24.75-$31.52 per hour
