Full job description

Looking for a Behaviour Therapist with experience using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to work with children with autism spectrum disorder and/or developmental disabilities. In conjunction with families, caregivers, and a variety of treatment professionals, the Behaviour Therapist would implement behaviour support plans for children, youth, and adults with behavioural challenges. Behavioural Therapist would be operating under the supervision of our BCBA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement individualized treatment plans, behavioural support plans and ABA strategies; under the supervision of the RBA
  • Perform ongoing adjustments to current programs as needed; Under the supervision of the RBA
  • Collect accurate data for the programs and collect ABC data
  • After every session, provide session notes that are clear, professional to the parents.
  • Communicate with Senior Therapist regularly regarding client's changing needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in behavioral sciences; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field (for BCaBA) and/or have or in the process of completing a Master’s in Applied Behaviour Analysis or related Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) certification OR working toward their board certified behavior analyst certification.
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience working with youth and adults with autism spectrum disorder and/or developmental disabilities, high-risk behaviour, dual diagnosis, and a wide variety of mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing ABA principles and techniques.
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Demonstrates flexibility and strong time-management skills to manage changing caseloads.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid G-class Ontario driver’s license
  • An up-to-date Criminal Background Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR training
  • Knowledge of ABA is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in an additional language is an asset.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
