Latitude Adult Services with Locations in Caledonia Ontario

Our Agency provides residential supports for adult males (in Caledonia) diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are currently looking to recruit for full and part-time positions.

Requirements

  • Ability to engage and support residents in community activities
  • Implement assigned individual care plans
  • Provide support to individuals who may require assistance with daily living skills, life skills, behavioural management, social skills and other areas
  • Able to work 12hr shifts
  • Residents rely heavily on staff to help them with showering/toileting

Additional Responsibilities

  • Administer medications
  • Complete daily shift logs, incident reports, medication charts and other legal documents
  • Comply with all policies and procedures as established by the agency
  • Transport residents to and from appointments and community outings
  • Attend appointments with residents
  • Assist residents with daily hygiene routines and household chores
  • Interact professionally with residents, parents and co-workers

Required Experience

  • Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, Developmental Service Worker or diploma in related field along and/or 2 years experience working in the field.
  • Experience in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) an asset
  • Experience with behavioural management systems (i.e.SMG) an asset

Required Documentation

  • Upon hire you will produce a valid Criminal Reference Check for Vulnerable Sector, a completed medical form with updated immunizations, current First and CPR certifications, valid Ontario G class driver’s license in good standing.

Duties:

  • Assisting clients with personal hygiene and getting dressed
  • Assisting clients with housekeeping or other daily errands
  • Observing and reporting on changes in the health or status of the client
  • Preparing food and feeding clients
  • Maintaining clients' health equipment
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Administering medication
  • Transporting client to appointments
  • Assisting clients with rehabilitative exercises
  • Providing support with academic, social or recreational activities
