Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Pump Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, along with hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of pumps, electric motors, and related equipment.

This role is critical to maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our clients’ systems while upholding the high service standards and reputation of Seymour-Smith Electric.

Duties

  • Thoroughly review work orders, paying close attention to customer concerns and reported issues

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience working with mechanical systems and rotating equipment
  • Strong electrical background, including wiring, schematic reading, and motor diagnostics
  • Solid understanding of pumps, motors, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pump systems using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools
  • Perform evaluations, repairs, and maintenance on motors and pumps
  • Carry out mechanical repairs including seals, bearings, impellers, and related components
  • Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on motors
  • Accurately record labor time, materials used, and repair details on work orders
  • Assist other technicians as needed to ensure timely completion of work
  • Participate in training programs and technical development opportunities
  • Manual machining experience is considered an asset

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

  • 446A (Electric Motor Technician)
  • 442A (Industrial Electrical)
  • 443A (Industrial Mechanic / Millwright)
