The Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa in Victoria is a luxury resort featuring 91 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar and lounge, a 300-person ballroom, and extensive conference facilities. The property is part of the Westin brand under the Marriott International portfolio.

The resort also features a high-end spa and Serenity Pool, providing guests with a complete luxury resort experience in a beautiful mountain setting.

About the position

Callisto is looking for an experienced server to join our busy food and beverage team. In this position, you will provide exceptional customer service to our guests, anticipate their needs, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Our perfect candidate has significant serving experience in high-end restaurants, with a valid Serving it Right certification and hospitality or food and beverage training.

What you need

• Previous food and beverage or serving experience in a full-service hotel or restaurant environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent guest service skills with a genuine hospitality mindset.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Ability to make appropriate menu and beverage recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Serving It Right certification is required for positions serving alcohol in British Columbia.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, professional, and attentive service in accordance with Marriott and Westin service standards.
• Greet guests, take accurate orders, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on food and beverages.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper presentation of tables and service areas.
• Process guest bills and payments accurately and follow cash-handling and POS procedures.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
• Respond to guest requests and concerns professionally and promptly.
• Follow all hotel, departmental, food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service policies.
• Maintain a professional appearance and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
