Bar Romy is the new casual Italian bar at the corner of Adelaide and John in Toronto’s Entertainment District. Join our dynamic team as a Pizza Cook at Bar Romy, where your culinary skills and passion for food will shine! In this energetic role, you will be the heart of our kitchen, crafting delicious pizzas and preparing a variety of mouthwatering dishes that delight our guests. Your expertise in food preparation, cooking, and food safety will ensure every meal served meets our high standards of quality and flavor. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your kitchen experience in a lively restaurant environment where teamwork and enthusiasm drive success.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook authentic pizzas, ensuring each is made with fresh ingredients and attention to detail
  • Assist in food preparation for other menu items, maintaining efficiency during busy hours
  • Follow all food safety and handling procedures to uphold hygiene standards and prevent contamination
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and prep stations
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service experience to guests
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
  • Support the serving staff by ensuring timely delivery of freshly prepared dishes to customers

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar food industry role
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
  • Excellent skills in meal preparation and cooking methods specific to pizza making and general kitchen operations
  • Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred, with a focus on fast-paced environments
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
  • Enthusiasm for learning new recipes and culinary techniques to enhance menu offerings

Required:

  • Must be able to work nights or mornings

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
