The Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre - Seasonal Banquet Server
This is a seasonal position running from November through February, with the potential for a permanent employment opportunity based on business needs and performance.
Join our team at The Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre, a very busy hotel and conference centre dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
As a Seasonal Banquet Server, you’ll play an important role in supporting weddings, conferences, corporate functions, and special events. You’ll help create a welcoming, well-organized dining experience through attentive guest service, coordinated food and beverage service, and careful attention to cleanliness and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare banquet rooms, dining areas, and service stations for events, ensuring all supplies and equipment are ready.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally while responding to guest requests with courtesy and care.
- Work collaboratively with the banquet team to ensure smooth, efficient, and coordinated event service.
- Follow proper food-handling, food-safety, and sanitation procedures while maintaining clean and organized work areas.
- Assist with basic food preparation, bartending duties, and beverage service as required.
- Help reset and prepare event spaces between service periods and functions.
- Communicate effectively with team members to anticipate guest needs and maintain high service standards.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A positive attitude, professional manner, and passion for hospitality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, busy hotel and banquet environment.
- Strong teamwork, organization, and attention to detail.
- Previous restaurant, banquet, food service, bartending, or hotel experience is an asset.
- Smart Serve certification is an asset and will be required by your start date.
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: $17.95 per hour plus event gratuity pool
