The Role

As a Line Cook, you will prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations. You will work closely with the culinary team to deliver accurate, high-quality food during both regular restaurant service and large events.

  • Set up, stock, and maintain assigned kitchen stations
  • Complete daily food preparation and production tasks
  • Maintain consistent portioning, presentation, and food quality
  • Communicate clearly with cooks, chefs, servers, and managers
  • Manage multiple orders efficiently during high-volume service
  • Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
  • Monitor product quality and communicate low-stock or preparation needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
  • Assist with receiving, storage, cleaning, and closing duties
  • Reduce waste through proper preparation, rotation, and product handling
  • Support private events, group bookings, and banquet-style service when required

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to arrive prepared for scheduled shifts
  • Able to follow recipes, directions, and established kitchen systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to remain organized and professional under pressure
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to commute to downtown Calgary

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Discounted or complimentary meals during scheduled shifts
  • Employee food and beverage discounts
  • Opportunities to build experience in restaurant, banquet, and event service
  • A unique workplace in one of Calgary’s most recognizable historic venues
