Job Overview

The Relationship Manager, Creative Industries is a growth-focused front-line role within a close, collaborative team, responsible for deepening member relationships, supporting more complex personal banking needs, providing support to business banking members, and increasing proactive revenue activity across the creative and entrepreneurial communities.

Role

Sales and Service

  • Develop, and manage a portfolio of personal, business, and entrepreneurial member relationships by identifying needs early, deepening engagement, and increasing share of wallet across deposits, lending, wealth, and payments to achieve assigned sales targets
  • Drive membership growth through proactive outreach, including at our studio offsite location(s), disciplined follow-up, strong onboarding conversion, and consistent opportunity management rather than reliance on transactional branch traffic alone
  • Lead advice-based conversations that uncover immediate and future financial needs, positioning suitable solutions that support member goals while contributing to deposit, lending, and non-margin income growth
  • Identify more complex credit and wealth opportunities and coordinate high-quality referrals to internal partners, including Wealth and Business Banking, with clear context and follow-through
  • Apply strong knowledge of personal and business banking products to expand product penetration, improve solutioning, and support members with blended personal and entrepreneurial banking needs
  • Build long-term relationships through regular proactive contact, structured follow-up, and clear relationship ownership that improves retention, reduces handoffs, and creates a consistent member experience
  • Support growth initiatives tied to the studio-based service model by balancing advice, acquisition, relationship deepening, and specialized member engagement within the creative sector

Financial GuidanceCredit Support

  • Provide advice-led guidance aligned to member needs and goals by identifying suitable products and services that support growth, deepen relationships, and increase product penetration
  • Support personal credit requests, including loans, lines of credit, and mortgage solutions, while proactively identifying opportunities to advance lending conversations and improve conversion outcomes
  • Recognize and assess more complex deposit and lending scenarios involving self-employed or entrepreneurial members, identifying needs earlier and escalating or referring with strong supporting context
  • Identify business banking and commercial opportunities early and advance them through strong internal referrals that support broader relationship capture and revenue growth
  • Lead conversations related to savings and longer-term goals, particularly for members with variable or self-employed income, with a focus on early wealth discovery and relationship deepening
  • Recognize when more complex planning or investment needs should be referred to a senior advisor or specialist, ensuring timely follow-up and stronger referral outcomes that support funds under management growth

Creative Community Exposure

  • Learn about the financial realities of creative professionals and entrepreneurs and actively apply that knowledge to deliver relevant, practical banking guidance and member solutions
  • Act as brand ambassador by participating in creative-sector or community events while actively promoting and strengthening brand presence
  • Build authentic relationships within creative and business communities over time to reinforce our commitment to the creative sector
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in business, finance, or a related field, or relevant industry experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in financial services including relationship management, credit, sales, and member service or relevant industry experience
  • Two (2) years working within creative businesses or communities
  • Experience in working with self-employed, entrepreneurial, or creative members
  • Stay abreast of all credit and investment product and services and stay current on our processes
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability and commitment to meet assigned sales, growth, and ancillary targets by proactively identifying member needs, deepening relationships, and delivering appropriate solutions through direct service and internal referrals
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to take initiative to independently research and source accurate information related to internal policies, products and processes
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage daytoday workflows and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate documentation, and follow up on tasks to support timely completion of requests and commitments
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn
  • Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required and work flexible or irregular hours to support member service, events, and branch operations

Salary Range: $59,078 to $81,233 annually.

Compensation for this role reflects a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Those whose experience more closely aligns the role's requirements may be placed higher within the salary range.
