Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Line Haul Driver from North Bay/Sudbury to the GTA late afternoons and overnight. DZ license is required although an AZ license is preferred. Candidates need to operate commercial vehicles for long-distance freight transportation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely delivering freight across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest safety standards. This role requires a strong focus on vehicle operation, adherence to transportation regulations, and efficient route management to support our logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial trucks and freight vehicles over long distances according to company policies and federal regulations
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests and delivery logs
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delays, or issues during transit
  • Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies during transportation activities
  • Assist with warehouse duties such as freight handling and inventory management when not on the road

Skills

  • Valid DZ driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record (AZ license preferred)
  • Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of freight handling procedures and securement techniques
  • Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting skills beneficial
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet delivery schedules
