Introduction: At Canadian Industrial Services, we are pioneers in industrial automation and system integration, dedicated to enhancing technological applications across diverse sectors. We are on the lookout for a dedicated Automation & Controls Engineer/Technologist / Systems Integrator who thrives in innovative environments and is keen on implementing state-of-the-art automation solutions within complex systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, and oversee the testing and implementation of automated machinery and processes.
  • Execute comprehensive project management from initial conception through to final completion, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Develop and enforce robust control systems to guarantee reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and enhance automation systems to maximize operational performance.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to devise bespoke hardware and software solutions.
  • Uphold stringent industry standards and safety protocols throughout all project phases.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced programming skills in PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems tailored for varied industrial automation scenarios.
  • In-depth troubleshooting capabilities for a wide range of process equipment and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in developing detailed functional descriptions, flowcharts, and control narratives.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD for designing and adjusting electrical control panels to meet specific project needs.
  • Skilled in the integration, programming, and commissioning of AC/DC and Servo drives.
  • Adept at accurately quoting project costs based on preliminary specifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in designing and integrating safety monitoring systems.
  • Capability to produce precise electrical drawings in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Experienced in programming and deploying robotic systems.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a controls technologist or automation specialist role.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs.
  • A solid understanding of AutoCAD and schematic interpretation.
  • Profound mechanical knowledge, preferably with hands-on experience in industrial electrician tasks.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or a 3-year technologist diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
