We are currently hiring a remote Auto Bodily Injury Adjuster in personal line for a temporary to possible permanent placement with one of our major insurer partners. As part of the Workforce Advantage division, you would be in our talent pool of adjusters to be contacted for potential job opportunities in the P&C Insurance industry based on availability and fit. The roles are typically contract positions of 3 to 12 months in length.

As a Bodily Injury Adjuster, you will be responsible for full handling of automobile and property bodily injury claims in Ontario. The files are of varying complexity, and the successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high-performance environment. The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle Auto Bodily Injury (BI) claims by telephone and correspondence. The candidate has the ability to work effectively with insureds, adjusters, clients, legal counsel and more.

The salary range is $55,000 to $75,000 annually.

Responsibilities:

  • Full handle of both direct deal and litigated files
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate Ontario Bodily Injury losses of moderate to high complexity
  • Manage challenging coverage claims with tact and professionalism
  • Arrange and manage vendors for your investigation (IA's, surveillance, legal defense, defense medicals)
  • Maintain accurate reserves and expense control
  • Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and trials

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience handling bodily injury claims
  • CIP or working towards designation is required
  • ON independent adjusting license, probationary or full or ability to obtain license
  • Strong organizational; decision making and problem-solving skillset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Expertise in file preparation, and demonstrate ability to negotiate a file to resolution
  • Knowledge of claims settlement, policy wording, and fraud investigations with ability to identify and analyze coverage issues
  • Strong general computer knowledge required
  • Knowledge of handling claims across Canada, as well as US exposures is an asset 
  • Experience with Guidewire Claims Centre would be an asset

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
