Position: Developmental Support Worker (DSW)

Job Summary:

Carecor Health Services is seeking compassionate Developmental Services Workers (DSWs) to support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and complex support needs in the Greater Toronto Area.

As a DSW with Carecor, you will provide person-directed support, assist with daily living activities, promote community participation, and help individuals develop skills that enhance independence and quality of life. You will play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. This is a casual position offering flexible scheduling based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:


Candidates must have experience providing direct support services, including but not limited to:

  • Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with diverse needs.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, grooming, feeding, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Promote independence, safety, dignity, and overall well-being in home and community-based settings.
  • Implement individualized support plans and assist with daily routines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality of client information.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Developmental Services Worker (DSW) diploma preferred; related education in Human Services, Social Services, Child and Youth Care, or a similar field will be considered.
  • Experience supporting children, youth, or adults with developmental disabilities, autism, dual diagnoses, or complex needs in residential, community, or supported living settings.
  • Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, mobility, nutrition, and community participation.
  • Ability to implement behaviour support plans and assist with medication support and health-related routines.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification; CPI/Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training required or considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to person-centered care, professionalism, confidentiality, and safety.

Please note that based on current government mandates and directives, healthcare workers may be required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Successful candidates may be required to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
