Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ABA Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, implementing individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. This role requires a strong commitment to improving the lives of children through effective therapeutic interventions, collaboration with families, and ongoing data collection to track progress.

Duties

  • Implement individualized ABA therapy programs tailored to each child's unique needs.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervisors and families.
  • Develop behaviour plans in the absence of a BCBA and start supporting student learning.
  • Monitor and document progress through regular data collection and analysis.
  • Provide support and guidance to families, educating them on strategies to reinforce learning at home.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special education professionals, case managers, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for children during therapy sessions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in ABA practices.

Skills

  • Experience working with children, particularly in a pediatric or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of case management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to developmental disorders.
  • Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards children and their families.
  • Ability to conduct research related to behavioral interventions and best practices in ABA therapy.
  • Proficient in data collection methods for tracking behavioral progress.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with families and team members.
