Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Respite Caregiver specializing in Behavioral and Autism Support to join our team. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, dementia, and other behavioral health needs. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, supporting independence, and ensuring safety in home and community settings. We service between Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford and the Niagara region, candidates must be willing to drive within said regions for clients.

Duties

  • Provide personalized care to individuals with behavioral challenges and autism, supporting their unique needs and goals.
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Engage clients in social activities and therapeutic exercises that promote development and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, including heavy lifting techniques and infection control procedures such as CPR and first aid.

  • Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with diverse populations while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
