Full job description

Job Summary
FeelGood Homecare is seeking a patient, reliable, and community-oriented support male worker to assist an autistic client with community participation and social engagement.

The successful candidate will support the client during community outings, accompany them on walks, and assist with developing a positive and consistent routine.

Duties

  • Drive the client to and from community activities
  • Accompany the client on walks and community outings
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
  • Build rapport and a trusting relationship with the client
  • Monitor and report any significant observations or concerns
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Requirements

  • Experience supporting autistic individuals or individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Valid full driver's license
  • Police Check (VSC)
  • Reliable vehicle (at least 1 year of driving experience in Canada)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Comfortable wearing a mask during shifts
  • No perfume or strongly scented products during client visits
  • Ability to work independently in community settings

Skills

  • Experience supporting individuals in community-based programs
  • Understanding of autism and person-centred support approaches
  • Ability to build trust with clients who may require time to become comfortable with new workers
  • Calm and patient approach to support

This position is ideal for candidates passionate about supporting individuals with autism and committed to fostering positive growth within the community.
Note: Students in at least the 2nd year of studies will be considered.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
