Full job description

Kayla’s Children Centre is a not-for profit organization providing educational, therapeutic, recreational, and respite services for children with diverse abilities within a rich, Jewish cultural setting. We are seeking a candidate to work in our ABA department providing 1:1 support, small group instruction, and behaviour management in the classroom or clinic. The candidate will have the benefit of working within a multi-disciplinary team of experts such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, music therapists, teachers and behaviour analysts.

Responsibilities:

Student Support:

  • Working directly with students, 1:1 and in small groups
  • Prepare for ABA sessions and write session notes and update graphs as needed
  • Maintain client binders and materials

Classroom Support:

  • Implement reinforcement systems in the classroom
  • Implement proactive strategies in the classroom
  • Implement individual goals throughout the day (as directed by teacher, RBA)
  • Collect and graph data

Behaviour Support:

  • Implement supervised behaviour plans in the classroom
  • Implements proactive behaviour management strategies

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education and training in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
  • Effective experience working with a broad variety of learners and children in an educational setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience working with children ages 2-15 with ASD and other exceptionalities
  • CPR and crisis prevention certifications (preferred)

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Pay: $48,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
