Vancouver, BC | Full-Time | Immediate Start

Western Audio Visual Enterprises (WAVE) is a Vancouver‑based AV systems integrator delivering high‑quality commercial and institutional AV solutions across the Lower Mainland. We are seeking an experienced Lead / Senior Audio Visual Technician to take a hands‑on leadership role in the installation, commissioning, and delivery of complex AV systems.

This role is ideal for a seasoned technician who enjoys ownership, mentoring others, and being the technical authority on site.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the installation and commissioning of commercial and institutional AV systems
  • Serve as the on‑site technical lead for assigned projects
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test AV and low‑voltage cabling (CAT6, HDMI, speaker wire, control, etc.)
  • Build and wire equipment racks to industry best practices
  • Mount and deploy displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, and control interfaces
  • Perform initial system configuration, checkout, and commissioning in coordination with programmers
  • Configure and validate DSP, control, and conferencing hardware prior to project handoff
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning
  • Read and interpret system drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction documents
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Designers, and Programmers to ensure successful delivery
  • Mentor and support junior technicians on site
  • Maintain clean, professional job sites and documentation

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience installing and commissioning commercial AV systems
  • Strong hands‑on experience with unified communications and video conferencing systems
  • Experience with enterprise‑grade AV platforms such as: Q-SYS, Biamp, Microsoft Teams, Shure, Extron, Crestron, etc...
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot system‑level issues (audio, video, control, networking)
  • Solid understanding of AV signal flow, IP‑based systems, and basic networking concepts
  • Comfortable leading work on active construction sites
  • Ability to work safely on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, solutions‑oriented mindset
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
