Job Title: Video Recording Technician – Safety Training Focus
Salary: $39.00 to $49.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 35 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Morning
Start Date: As soon as possible
Benefits: Dental plan, health care plan, vision care benefits
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Film/Cinema/Video Studies or Communication and Media Studies
Experience: 1 to less than 2 years in professional video production with a focus on educational or safety content

We are currently searching for a dedicated Video Recording Technician to produce high-quality safety training videos for our diverse portfolio of clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with safety trainers to produce engaging and instructional safety training videos.
  • Film various training sessions, both in-studio and on-site at construction locations, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Edit and produce compelling video content that adheres to industry safety standards and educational guidelines.
  • Operate a range of video and audio equipment, ensuring all equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
  • Incorporate motion graphics and special effects to enhance the educational impact of safety training materials.
  • Ensure all video content is stored securely and organized for easy retrieval and use across multiple platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest in video production technology and editing software to recommend upgrades and enhancements.
  • Work with the instructional design team to align video content with training objectives and outcomes.

Experience and Specialization

  • Proficiency with specific video production systems, such as digital effect video mastery units and computer-assisted control editors.
  • Expertise in audiovisual equipment operation for both indoor and location shoots, with a keen understanding of acoustics and lighting in varied environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues swiftly during recording sessions.

Technical Proficiency

  • Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop.
  • Experience with 3D graphic software is a strong asset.
  • Strong computer and technical literacy, especially within the MS Windows environment.

Work Experience

  • Proven track record in producing commercial advertising or educational video production, preferably within the safety training realm.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, viewer-friendly content.
