About the Role

Yaletown Podcast Studio is looking for a Podcast Studio Operator with a mix of technical skills and customer service expertise to oversee and monitor recording sessions. This role is ideal for someone who has some experience with audio and video equipment, enjoys working with creators, and has proficient editing skills in Premiere Pro. Note: there will be full autonomy on many productions, with supervision and support from our team.

This role will be effectively full-time, with periods of 'free time' for creative projects and remote days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Shure SM7B microphones, Sony FX6 + FX3 Cinema-line cameras, Rodecaster Pro II and lighting for recording sessions.
  • Upload recordings, organize SD cards, and maintain file backups.
  • Use Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or other editing software for basic post-production editing and audio mixing.
  • Greet clients, assist with their studio setup, and provide a positive studio experience.
  • Manage studio bookings and communicate with clients.

What We’re Looking For

  • Moderate to Advanced experience operating microphones, cameras, and basic audio/video equipment.
  • Moderate to Advanced editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or similar.
  • Strong communication skills for hosting and helping clients through their productions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage files efficiently.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and ensure smooth studio operations.
