Full job description

Microland is hiring an experienced speaker and audio repair technician to diagnose and repair consumer audio gear at cour Markham facility. You'll work on speakers, soundbars, subwoofers, powered monitors, home theater receivers, and integrated amps that come in through our warranty and RMA channels: product lines include Klipsch, KEF, Polk, JBL, Sonos, Bose, Marantz, NAD, PSB.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and repair blown drivers — tweeters, midranges, woofers, subwoofers. Recone and replace voice coils where viable.
  • Refoam rotted woofer surrounds.
  • Rebuild passive crossovers — swap failed caps, inductors, resistors, binding posts.
  • Diagnose networked/smart speakers including main logic boards and firmware recovery.
  • Measure T/S parameters, impedance, and frequency response post-repair. Final listening sign-off through a proper audio chain.

Must have

  • Component-level soldering and rework.
  • Schematic reading for audio, power supply, and DSP circuits.
  • Ability to self learn through AI tools

Nice to have

  • Hands-on reconing or voice-coil rework.
  • Class D amp repair
  • Direct service history with Klipsch, KEF, Polk, JBL, Marantz, Sansui, NAD, or PSB.
  • AV receiver repair — Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo, Marantz.
  • Canadian electronics engineering technician diploma.
