POSITION OVERVIEW ASSISTANT MANAGER

You will support the General Manager in leading the floor, coaching the team, maintaining standards, and ensuring the business runs smoothly, profitably, and safely. This role is ideal for someone ready to grow their leadership career in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where no two days are the same.

You bring hustle, accountability, people leadership, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while keeping the vibe high and standards higher.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2+ years leadership experience in hospitality, nightlife, restaurant, or entertainment venues.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  • Strong people leadership and coaching instincts.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of labour, sales, and cost controls.
  • Experience with POS systems (Pixel or similar considered an asset).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking ability.
  • Professional, dependable, and accountable.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and late-night operations.
  • ProServe or equivalent certification required based on province.
  • First Aid, security, or incident management experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example through strong floor presence, professionalism, urgency, and positive energy.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop hourly team members and supervisors in real time.
  • Support recruitment efforts including interviews, onboarding, and training new hires.
  • Help build schedules that align labour to business needs.
  • Drive accountability through clear expectations and follow-up.
  • Support performance management conversations with fairness and professionalism.
  • Identify high-potential team members and support succession planning.
  • Ensure every guest receives warm, efficient, memorable service.
  • Resolve guest concerns confidently and professionally.
  • Maintain high service standards across food, beverage, arcade, and atmosphere.
  • Monitor music, lighting, cleanliness, and overall energy of the venue.
  • Support VIP events, bookings, parties, and high-volume nights.
  • Execute opening, shift change, and closing manager responsibilities.
  • Monitor labour, sales, and operational efficiency throughout the shift.
  • Support inventory controls, ordering, receiving, and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Ensure cash handling, POS accuracy, comps/voids, and reporting procedures are followed.
  • Drive sales through floor leadership, upselling culture, and guest engagement.
  • Use reporting tools to understand trends and improve results.
  • Ensure adherence to liquor laws, gaming regulations, company policies, and employment standards.
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and complete documentation when required.
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and sanitation standards are consistently met.
  • Uphold responsible service standards and support security protocols.
  • Champion the Hudsons culture across every shift.
  • Build relationships with regular guests, local community partners, and team members.
  • Support local marketing initiatives, social media moments, and promotional events.
  • Protect the brand by ensuring consistency in execution and experience.

  • Total compensation is $66,000 - $76,000 inclusive of gratuities and annual bonus
  • Salary based off of experience
