Overview of Company

Leeway Marine is the leading marine services company in Atlantic Canada, operating fully crewed offshore ships and inshore vessels to support all ocean going sectors. Our company is built on the fundamental principle that knowledge drives success.

We are currently accepting resumes for experienced and qualified Marine Cooks for upcoming work in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all meals required as per Master’s orders for a crew of no less than 10, following dietary requirements when necessary
  • Prepare ordering lists for food/items and supervise the ordering and delivery of the food and food related items and ensure the food ordered is satisfactory
  • Abide by food production and sanitization codes
  • Maintain Galley, Mess, fridges and freezers at a high standard of cleanliness
  • Practice workplace health and safety procedures
  • Other duties as required

Reporting to the Master, this list is a summary of key responsibilities. Additional duties and responsibilities as reasonably consistent with those usually performed by a Marine Cook may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ships Cook Certificate of Competency (Mandatory)
  • Marine Emergency Duties Certificate (STCW)
  • Marine Advanced First Aid
  • Valid and Unlimited Transport Canada Marine Medical
  • Proven track record of relevant offshore experience in the marine sector
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • French fluency considered an asset
