Compensation: $17.60 - 22 CAD per hour, matching based on candidate profile

Patient Care Coordinator Job Summary

A Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for offering a quality customer service experience and ensuring that a high level of patient care is always maintained. The ability to ensure that proper assessment of doctors' needs in relation to prepping patients and testing is also
required.

Patient Care Coordinator Key Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service and patient care
  • Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly
  • Ensure accurate patient documentation recorded in the medical database
  • Gathering medical records and patient information
  • Taking ocular measurements
  • Providing eye care information to the patient
  • Maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments
  • Ability to assist the ophthalmologist in preparing patients for treatments and procedures
  • Ability to operate ophthalmic instruments and/or equipment
  • Ensure exam lanes, patient technician rooms, and patient technician storage are
  • kept neat and tidy
  • Assessing patients’ vision prior to seeing doctors
  • Preparing patients for lasers, injections, and minor procedures
  • Clean and sterilize instruments
  • Replenishing exam lane supplies (drops, syringe, information sheets, etc.) at the end of the day
  • Ensure that all patient interactions are dealt with confidentially and any
  • Confidential paperwork is dealt with in accordance with practice protocol

Patient Care Coordinator Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical or Biology or relevant areas.
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare setup.
  • Previous experience at an ophthalmic clinic is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of OSCAR EMR is a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and computer skills
  • Can work well independently and within a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Candidate must be able to handle a high paced environment
  • Alignment with company values
  • Ability to identify problems during procedures
  • Positive attitude, pleasant and professional manner in person and over the phone
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Additional language is an asset
