THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently seeking a client-focused Sales Representative to support our Sales Team in the Food Service division, which specializes in serving customers in Chinese restaurants.

Position Summary:

Are you passionate about the food industry and driven by results? We’re looking for a dynamic and motivated Food Service Sales Representative to join our team and play a key role in growing our customer base, promoting new and existing products, and supporting our continued success.

This position involves local travel to meet customers, including Chinese restaurants, and food distributors, to grow and maintain customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve established sales and gross profit targets through effective account management and business development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify and pursue new customer opportunities within the food service and restaurant sector.
  • Present and promote company products while introducing new and seasonal product offerings to customers.
  • Monitor inventory conditions and assist with the clearance of short-dated inventory when required.
  • Stay informed of market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to support strategic sales planning.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support order processing, delivery coordination, and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow up with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment matters when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity updates, and account information.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Conduct market research and product analysis to identify trends and growth opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Chinese to support customer and business needs within the assigned territory would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle (ability to travel within British Columbia).

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous sales experience within the food industry, restaurant supply, wholesale, or food distribution sector is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the restaurant and food service industry is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into effective sales strategies.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Expected Monthly Wage: $3,455.57 to $4,846.16
  • Disclosure Statements: Pay for this position includes sales commission and actual earnings will be based on individual performance. Please ask the recruiter for details regarding base pay and sales commission
