ACME Education Services

ACME devotes to provide high quality academic services. We offer a wide variety of courses covering all academic levels in English, Mathematics and Science. ACME provides educational consulting services for both domestic and international students, assisting them with their university applications. Classes at ACME are one-on-one or small group classes. Our focus is to activate the unlimited learning potential for every student.

ACME Education is currently seeking experienced English Language Arts tutors to provide one-on-one and group instruction to students of all ages and levels. As an English Language Arts tutor, you will be responsible for helping students develop their reading comprehension, writing skills, critical thinking skills and literary analysis skills, while also fostering a love of literature and language.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in English, Education, or a related field, as well as at least 1 year of ELL, English Studies, AP English, or Social Studies tutoring experience. B.C. Certified Teacher is an asset.
  • You should be comfortable working with students of different ages and learning styles and have a passion for helping them succeed academically.

Teaching Responsibilities:

Assessing student needs: As an ELA tutor, you will need to assess each student's individual needs to create a tailored plan for their improvement.

  • Developing lesson plans: You will need to develop lesson plans that are targeted to the student's needs and align with the curriculum they are following.
  • Providing feedback and correction: You will need to provide constructive feedback and help students identify and correct errors in their writing.
  • Tracking progress: You will need to track student progress and adjust your lessons accordingly to help students achieve their goals.
  • Creating a positive learning environment: You will need to create a supportive and positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Keeping records: You should maintain accurate records of the student's progress, including notes on their strengths and weaknesses, and any relevant assessment results.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
